As Marketing & Event Sales Manager for Okay Cannabis, I helped bring to life the nation’s first-ever dispensary, bakery, bar, and consumption lounge under one roof—a new concept with locations in Wheeling, West Town, and Evanston. I led the brand launch from day one, overseeing creative direction, social media, campaign development, website management, in-store displays, community relations, and event strategy across all three openings.

I planned and executed each grand-opening event, built the digital presence before opening day, developed community-driven partnerships, and shaped a cohesive visual and experiential identity that made the brand easy to recognize. From daily social content to seasonal campaigns to on-site consumer experiences, I turned a brand-new concept into a place people kept coming back to.

The Okay Cannabis mission

Okay was built on a simple message: whatever you came in for, you're okay here. Opened by The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group with social equity partners, each location pairs a dispensary with a West Town Bakery café and cocktail bar, so people can come in for coffee, a cocktail, or cannabis.

The Challenge

Bringing together a family-friendly bakery, a 21+ cannabis consumption lounge, and a dispensary under one roof presented a unique branding challenge: how do you create a cohesive experience for all ages while breaking down the stigma around cannabis? I built a brand that felt approachable, innovative, and culturally relevant, unifying these seemingly contrasting elements into one memorable destination.

Strategy & Execution

I crafted a visual identity and marketing style that connected cannabis, community, and hospitality. This included:

Product photography and design that tied together the bakery, lounge, and dispensary under a single brand aesthetic.
Social media and digital marketing campaigns that educated, entertained, and engaged diverse audiences.
Event strategy and activation to put the brand in front of people.

By integrating community, culture, and cannabis, these initiatives got people talking, drove foot traffic, and positioned Okay Cannabis as more than a dispensary—it became a destination.
